Delete your PayTrader account
You can delete your PayTrader account at any time. This page explains how to request deletion — including without reinstalling the app — and exactly what deletion covers.
How to request deletion
In the app (preferred): sign in, then go to Profile → Settings → Delete account. The app walks you through what will be anonymised and confirms before anything happens. Deletion takes effect immediately.
By email (no app needed): email privacy@paytrader.net or support@paytrader.net from the email address registered to your account, with the subject "Account deletion request". We will verify the request came from your registered address and respond within one month (usually much sooner).
What deletion does
This cannot be undone. Deleting your account will permanently anonymise your personal details. Financial records and job history are retained for legal compliance.
What will be anonymised
- Your name and contact details
- Your sign-in details (password, Apple/Google links)
- Your profile photo and bio
- Your address information
You will be signed out immediately and cannot recover the account.
Retained for legal compliance
- Transaction records (7 years)
- Job and stage history
- Dispute records
Financial records are retained as required by UK law — PayTrader is subject to financial-services record-keeping obligations that survive account deletion. Retained records are kept with your personal identifiers anonymised, as described in our Privacy Policy (see the data-retention section).
Before you can delete
If you have jobs still in progress, money held in escrow, or an open dispute, we'll ask you to resolve those first — the app shows you exactly what's outstanding and takes you to each item. This protects the other party to your jobs as well as you.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, or you want to exercise any other data-protection right (access, correction, restriction, objection), email privacy@paytrader.net. If you're unhappy with how we handle your request you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
